AMBOY —   Douglas D. Lembke, age 84, of Minnesota Lake, MN, died Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, MN.  Memorial Services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Please see to leave online condolences.  Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.

 Douglas Duane Lembke was born September 1, 1929, in Barber Twp., Faribault Co., MN, the son of Dr. Carl and Jeanette (Raihle) Lembke.  He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School and attended Hamline University for two years.  Douglas returned to Minnesota Lake where he farmed and worked for Putz Brother's Implement for twelve years.  In 1950, he married Shirley Velstad, and they were married for 33 years.  In addition to farming his entire working life, he also served as president of the MN Farmer's Co-op, and was a longtime board member of Farmer's National Bank. Douglas married Joyce Follette Rippel on August 28, 1984.  The couple resided in Minnesota Lake during the summer, and they wintered in Palm Springs, California from 1984 to 1997.  In 1998, they built a new home in Goodyear, Arizona in the Pebble Creek Community.  Doug enjoyed golf, dancing, traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new and interesting places.  

 Doug is survived by his wife Joyce; 2 daughters:  Karen (Fred) Gordon, Kim (Richard) Ernest and granddaughter Sarah Ernest. He is also survived by Joyce's children:  Nancy (Jeff) Miller, Judy (Steven) Waldhauser, and Robert (Linda) Rippel.
