Donald "Don" Clarence Neeb, age 86, of Worthington, died on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington, MN. Don was born on December 27, 1926, in Sanborn, MN to Clarence and Katherine (Platt) Neeb. Don was united in marriage to Marie Elizabeth Martius on June 8, 1948. They farmed in Sanborn before moving to Worthington in 1965.
Don worked at Hawke and Company Harvestore for 31 years. He and Marie traveled the country in their motorhome for 10 years. They built a house in Lake Havasu City, AZ, where they lived from 1998 to 2007. They then returned to Worthington. Don and Marie owned Neeb's Downtown Flowers. He enjoyed farming and working in the field.
Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie of Worthington, MN; eight children, Steve (Diane) Neeb of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Donald (Patty) Neeb of North Mankato, MN, Sharon (Larry) Davis of Worthington, MN, David (Sally) Neeb of Custer, SD, Scott (Kim) Neeb of Mankato, MN, Laurie (Bruce) Pass of Worthington, MN, Teresa (Tom) Haberman of Worthington, MN, and Amy (Tim) Charbonneau of Princeton, MN; 21 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; his mother, Kate; a sister, Teresa, and three brothers, Henry, Martin, and Edward.
Don's greatest joy in life was spending time with family. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his boys, playing cards with family and friends, playing games with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, riding on the pontoon in Hayward and on Lake Okabena, but cursed digging the holes for planting flower bulbs. Later in life his passion/obsession became using gorilla glue in mass quantities.
Don loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Marys Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Cathal Gallagher officiating. Private family burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Worthington, MN.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington.
