Duaine D. Crosby

— Duaine D. Crosby, age 81, of St. Peter passed away surrounded with love at his Habilitative Services home in St. Peter on Monday, December 10, 2012.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery in Henderson.

Duaine was born on September 12, 1931, to Howard and Gertrude (Stiem) Crosby on the farm near Blakeley, MN.  Duaine lived with his family on the farm until September 1972.  Duaine moved into his current residence on December 1, 1994.  Duaine worked at Valley Enterprises in St. Peter until he retired in August of 2009.

Duaine loved to laugh and tease those closest to him.  He enjoyed going on vacations, to places such as Branson, MO, Duluth, MN, and to Memphis, TN, as well as just spending time with those closest to him at various gatherings.  Duaine cherished polka music especially from Peter and Paul and the Wendinger Brothers.  He enjoyed going to Bandwagon when they were there and to the county fair each year.  It was a delight to hear Duaine break out into a polka song as he wheeled through the house.  Duaine was very informative when it came to the weather and would self admit that he did a better job than the weathermen.  At home Duaine had his routine! Monday through Friday at 10am he had to watch The Price is Right, at 6:30pm it was Wheel of Fortune and on Saturdays at 11am it was Bandwagon.

Duaine was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Robert Crosby and a niece, Tanya Zellman.

Duaine is survived by his extended family members of his home and his brother, Glen (Bettie) Crosby of Henderson and several nieces and nephews.

Duaine touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.
