Edward Robert, the son of Robert and Helena (Schoenfeld) Braun, was born on May 10, 1919 in Smiths Mill, Waseca County, Minnesota.  He attended Pemberton High School and graduated with the class of 1936.  On December 10, 1960, Ed was united in marriage to Vivian Hubbard at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. They resided on Ed's family farm for many years and in 1980, rented the farm land to Jeff More.  Ed then began working at the Mankato Rehabilitation Center (MRCI) and eventually retired in 1994.  They continued to live on the farm until health problems forced them to move into Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Outside of farming and working, Ed was a dedicated member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he held various positions on the church board and also was a longtime choir member.  Ed also enjoyed traveling and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Mankato; his sisters, Gladys Dagan of Eagle Lake and Lucille McMahon of Owatonna; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lawrence Braun; and by his sisters, Elaine Een and Viola Witt.
