Thomas Melchior

—  Thomas Melchior of Seattle, WA passed away January 17, 2014 after suffering a stroke January 3, 2014.

 Tom was born on December 31, 1935 in Madison Lake, MN to Herbert and Olivia Melchior. Tom served faithfully and honorably for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1976 as a Chief Master Sergent. He earned two commendation medals for meritorious service and outstanding achievement during his service from 1963 - 1968. Tom also earned a bronze star during his development to Vietnam from 1970 - 1971. After retirement, he and his family moved back to Austin, TX in 1976 where he began a 33 year civilian career with Tracor, which later became BAE systems.

 Tom enjoyed piloting small aircraft for recreation during his military service. Aviation was one of his true loves. His children enjoyed flying with him into the wild blue yonder. He volunteered at a local senior activity center. He will be remembered as a generous, fun loving man who lived a long, full life. We will also remember one of his favorite sayings from back in the day... "Rave on mad dog!"

 Tom is survived by his spouse Marciana, former spouse Barbara, four children; Mark (Patty), Tari, Jennifer, Scott (Beth), 2 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Robert (Jan) Melchior, Sharon Anderson, Mary Burt, Colleen (Tom) Cole, Geralding (Rich) Lemcke, Lenice (Dail) Melchior, and Steve (Brenda) Melchior.

 He is preceeded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis Johnson and twin Brothers Gene and James.

 Interment was February 7th at Tahoma National Cemetary in Kent, WA with full military honors.
