Betty Glynn, age 88, of St. Peter, died Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Betty Glynn was born July 2, 1923, in Madison Lake, Minnesota to Leo and Hazel Muellerleile. She grew up in Madison Lake and went to All Saints Catholic School and graduated high school from Good Counsel Academy in Mankato.
Betty married Jack Glynn in August of 1941 and they had 4 children. Betty lived all her life in St. Peter. She worked as a waitress at the Holiday House restaurant and was one of the original waitresses. Betty worked at Gannons restaurant and The Embassy Bar in St. Peter. She could always be found with a smile and took pride in being a great waitress. Betty was also employed at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center in Dietary. She retired from the State of Minnesota in 1987. Betty was an active volunteer in her community, she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the funeral committee at St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was a member of The Red Men Pocahontas, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion. Betty was crowned the St. Patrick's Day Queen of 2002 in St. Peter and held that role dear to her heart.
Betty was beloved in St. Peter and enjoyed socializing with everyone and could be seen pedaling her bicycle around town and running errands for others. Betty was active all her life and had a zest for living. She will be greatly missed for her honesty, integrity, and loving heart.
Betty is survived by her children: Mike (Diane) Glynn of Redondo Beach, California, Patty (Jim) Schneider of Bemidji, MN, Tom Glynn of New Market, MN, Mary Beth (Tim) Smith of St. Peter; Brother Stan Muellerleile of St. Peter; Grandchildren: Casey (Shanti) Glynn, Coley (Tom) Rowe, John(Allison) Glynn, Bevan Glynn, Breanna (Nick) Frame, Ellie and Zeke Pierce, Jeff and Robbie Schneider, Partick and Kellen Smith; Great Grandchildren: Olive and Lily Rowe, Jaya and Luka Glynn, Orion Frame.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Hazel Muellerleile, sister Shirley Baumann, husband Jack Glynn and grandson Tyler Glynn. God Bless you Holiday House Betty Boop, keep on pedaling inheaven!
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 4 p.m. at Church of St. Peter. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. Private interment will be on Friday, April 13. Memorial are preferred to donor's choice or Catholic Daughters or Church of St. Peter.
