She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" (Beth) Frauenholtz of Waukon, along with their three sons, Todd (Kerry) of Bemidji, Ben (Shannon) of New Ulm, and Andy (Jackie) of Sartell; daughter, Anna Marie "Ann" (Greg) Simmet of New Ulm, and their daughter Melissa (Jason) Brown of South Haven; great grandchildren, Abbey, Kate, Austin, Ayden, Ben, and Greta Frauenholtz and Madison and Morgan Brown; sisters, Arlene Merksick, Fern Snipes both of Council Bluffs, IA, Joann Petrosky of Salida, CA; and brother Paul Christensen of Council Bluffs, IA; sister-in-law, Edna Boardman of Council Bluffs, IA; her very special friend, Sr. Kenric Rupert; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Louis James (Jim) Frauenholtz on December 25, 2006; parents; step-dad, Henry Christensen; brothers, Franklin, Kenneth, and one in infancy; sister, Betty Lou Swanger; and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Nadine Boardman was born July 24, 1925 to Frank and Meta (Schulz) Boardman in Grand Island, Nebraska. Later the family moved to Council Bluffs, IA, where she met the love of her life, Jim Frauenholtz. Soon after, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Europe. While overseas, he wrote to her every day and her in return. When the war in Europe ended, Jim came home and they were married on July 20, 1945 in Omaha, NE. Following their marriage, they moved to Texas until Jim was honorably discharged after the end of WWII. Then, they moved to Madelia, where Jim grew up. They operated Jim's Mobil and she worked for Stone Brother's Hatchery in Madelia. Later, they bought half of the Madelia school bus fleet which they sold in 1966 before moving to New Ulm. Here they purchased the Brand Bus Service and established and operated New Ulm Bus Lines until 1986. Nadine worked alongside Jim and during the fall of the year, she rode the noon kindergarten buses ensuring the kids got on and off at the right stops.

Nadine enjoyed doing crafts with her granddaughter, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and knitting. She made her own aprons and wore them whenever she was cooking or working in the kitchen. Over the years, she made many beautiful doilies, dish rags, the best scrubbies one could find, as well as refinishing and restoring beautiful antique furniture. Nadine and Jim spent their winters in McAllen, TX. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After Jim died, Nadine had to rely on Heartland for her transportation; she always had candy in her purse for the drivers and anyone else who was of assistance to her.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
