Ronald "Ronnie" Paige Horton

— Ronald 'Ronnie' Paige Horton

  Ronald "Ronnie" Paige Horton passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born on March 14, 1943. in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of George Earnest and Virginia Graham Horton. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Joyce Highlander Horton; his brothers Dale Wood Horton and Ernest "Jack" Simon Horton; his sisters Jeannette Horton Durham and her husband Bradley Micklem Durham,  and Jo Anne Horton Garrison; and a nephew Ronald Glenn Garrison.

 Ronnie attended local schools and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Horton's Appliance and Refrigeration Service.

   He is survived by his son John Paige Horton and his wife Johnna Solting Horton of Mankato, Minnesota, a brother Scott Graham Horton and his wife Juanita Morris Horton, a sister Peggy Horton Blincoe and her husband Melvin Leroy Blincoe, all of Charlottesville, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Elsie Minter Horton (Mrs. Dale Wood Horton) and Patricia Chaffin Horton (Mrs. Ernest Simon Horton), of Charlottesville. Also surviving him is Michael "Stumpy" Stowell, a special friend and longtime faithful employee. Ronnie also will be remembered by his Spudnut friends.

   Family night was held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 7:30pm at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.  A funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Hill and Wood Chapel with Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
