Peter W. Johns, 53, of Henderson, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in rural Sibley County.
Born on September 25, 1959, in Mankato, Peter was the son of Myron and Mary (Stevens) Johns. He attended school in St. Clair and was employed as a truck driver his entire life. Peter learned to drive any type of vehicle and was first employed by Monahan Dairy and later drove for Mullin Trucking in rural Jordan. He met Ruby Cobb in Arizona and on August 15, 1992, they were married. Peter immensely loved spending time with his family, friends and his motorcycles.
Peter is survived by his wife; Ruby, children; Lee Marvin (April) Shuster, Mindy Johns (Scott Laube), Amanda Johns (Travis Bryan) and Charles Johns (Kaitlin Grapentine), mother-In-law; Patricia Cobb, grandsons; Brady Lee, Silas Marvin and step-sisters; Deanna Elfers (Hank) and Linda Rosenberg, step-brother; Dean (Mary) Rosenberg, in-laws; Frank (Janice) Cobb, Roberta (Pat) Fisher, Kelly Burger, Jennifer (Danny) Husted and Charlene (Dan) Torrez and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by parents; Myron and Mary, step-mother; Vivian Johns, step-father; Bruce MacQueen, father-in-law; Walter Cobb, brother-in-law; Wally Cobb and step-brother Gary Rosenberg.
Funeral services for Peter will be on Saturday June 29th at 11 AM, from the Wagner Funeral Home, in Jordan, with Pastor Joseph Thunker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 5PM - 9 PM, at the funeral home in Jordan and also 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family burial will be held at a later date, at Woodland Hills, in Mankato.
