Helen Reinhardt, age 86, of Henderson, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson. Rev. Brigit Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson and also one hour prior to the service time at church. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery in Henderson.
Helen was born on August 17, 1926, to Joseph and Dora (Latzke) Brenke in Faxon Twp., Sibley County, Minnesota. She married Gail Reinhardt on June 30, 1943, in Henderson. She worked as a store clerk at Dempsey's Grocery Store in Henderson for 12 years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the family business for many years, Reinhardt Garage in Henderson. Helen did seasonal work for Green Giant and was also a caregiver to residents in the Henderson Area. She was proud to be an Election Judge. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, baking cookies; the cabin up north and especially enjoyed her grandsons who she referred to as her "boys".
Helen is survived by her children, Joyce (Bill) Luskey of Le Sueur and Michael (Leanne) Reinhardt of Henderson; 2 granddaughters, Lisa (Scott) Lestrud of Kensett, IA and Stacy (Darwin) Shepherd of Le Sueur; 3 great-grandsons, Ryder Lestrud, Riley and Alex Shepherd; 2 step-granddaughters, Kristin (Robert) Veldhuisen of Rochester and April Foley of Rochester; 2 step-great-grandsons, David and Hudson Veldhuisen; 4 sisters-in-law, Mary Brenke, Anna Mae Brenke, Rose Marie Busse and Margaret Reinhardt; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gail; 6 brothers and 2 sisters; grandson, Danny Luskey and daughter-in-law, Charlene Reinhardt.
