Donald "Jake" Paul Jacobsen


—  St. Peter resident, Donald "Jake" Paul Jacobsen, age 49, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at home with family by his side after a long battle with cancer.  A public service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Rev. Carl Bruihler, officiating.  A private interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

     Donald was born November 21, 1963, in Mankato, MN, to Donald and Lois (Gimmer) Jacobsen.  He graduated from St. Peter High School Class of 1982.  On July 6, 1985, he married Nancy (Evenson) Jacobsen.  Donald worked at ADC/ONAN in St. Peter and was also co-owner of Blue Mountain Coffee also in St. Peter.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, coin collecting, metal detecting, guns, Harleys, working on engines, watching Moondogs, Twins baseball games, and spending time with grandchildren and family.

  He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Stephen) Kraus of Chaska, MN; grandchildren, Hailey and Jackson; parents, Donald (Sharon) Jacobsen of St. Peter and Lois (Melvin) Jacobsen of Mankato; sister, Bonnie Jacobsen of Mankato; nieces and nephew, Amber (Jacobsen) Ireland, Holly (Unander) Houx, and David Unander.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
