William Taylor Wild




  William Taylor Wild, age 16, of Mankato, died Monday, March 18, 2013. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Covenant Family Church, 709 N. Riverfront Dr. in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 22 with a prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Covenant Family Church Building Fund or the Yellow Ribbon Program.

 Will was born January 15, 1997, in Mankato to Jeff and Wendy (Kern) Wild. He was a sophomore at Mankato East High School. His hobbies included music, movies, video games, computers, drawing, wood carving, creating Lego creations, poetry, chemistry experimentations and cooking. Other interests were camping, fishing and biking/bike polo but especially his time spent with family and friends. Will was a former member of the Lego League Robotics and an active participant at History Fest.

  He is survived by his parents Jeff and Wendy of Mankato; brothers, James Helm of Rochester and Leon Murray of St. Peter; grandparents, Gary (Rhonda) Kern of Ham Lake and Sharon Hartwig of Wheaton; aunts, Sandy (Jon) Block of Lake Lillian, Kristie Voss of Mankato, Peggy Wild (Dave Butler) of Minneapolis, Kathy (Jim) Blaseck of Chicago, IL; uncle, Larry (Ellen) Wild of Mankato; cousins, Ann (Steve) Olson, Brian Wild, John Wild, Greg Hartwig, Jessica Voss, Rachel Hartwig, Samantha Hartwig, Jacklyn Miller, Philip Hartwig, Morgan Block, Isaac Murray, Emilee Murray, Laela Murray and Verena Murray.

  Will was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ken and Shirley Wild; grandfather, Doug Hartwig; uncle, Dan Hartwig and great grandmother, Hazel Olson.
