Aileen Marjorie McNeill was born November 4, 1922 in Mooroopna, Victoria, Australia to John and Gertrude (Hill) McNeill. She attended Mooroopna Primary School in Mooroopna, Victoria, Australia. Aileen was united in marriage to Richard Davis on September 30, 1944 in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. She was employed as a telephone operator at the Mooroopona Post Office, Myer Emporium Department Store in Melbourne and then as a waitress at the Cat-and-the Fiddle Supper Club during her years of raising her children. Aileen had a great love of flowers and gardening. The farmhouse was always surrounded by flowers and throughout the yard were groups of roses, mums, lilies and others. Her favorites however were Lily and Orchid which she took great pride in bringing them to bloom. Another passion of Aileen's was knitting and crocheting. She made many beautiful sweaters, afghans, hats, mittens and doll dresses. Her entire family has these beautiful items as remembrance.

Aileen's greatest leisure and sport of interest was tennis. During her youth in Australia she played the sport often and would treasure the few opportunities she had to play a good opponent after moving to Minnesota. The Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open and the French Open were always on the television when they were played. She was an active member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church.
