Thomas Steven Felber

Thomas Steven Felber, 72, of Owatonna, died unexpectedly Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home in Owatonna.

He was born July 17, 1940, in Fairmont, Minnesota, the son of Lloyd and Effie (Larsen) Felber.  He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1958.  He attended St. Olaf College then Mankato State University where he graduated with a degree in art education and business.  He married Nancy Stanton on August 8, 1964, at the United Church of Mapleton in Mapleton, Minnesota.  They made their home in Pepin, Wisconsin. Tom taught art and coached basketball and track in Pepin for three years, Truman, Minnesota, for two years and from 1969 to 1989 in Byron, Minnesota, for twenty years.  Tom retired and in 1989 they moved to Owatonna. Tom continued his part time business of antiques, collectibles, cars, parts, and advertisement signage.

He was a member of the MEA, NEA, MSRA, NSRA, and V8 Ford Club.  He enjoyed vacationing in the Duluth area, fishing, hunting, war movies and westerns.  He also loved 50's and 60's music. Tom's greatest pride and joy was his family.  His son, Mark  excelled at basketball due to his coaching.  Tom would include his family in his enthusiasm for cars and sports.  He would also continue to follow his former students and families while making everyone feel special.
