Patricia Lynn Eggers

—   Patricia Lynn Eggers, 57, of Owatonna, went home to be with Our Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from complications of diabetes.

Patty was born March 21, 1955, in Owatonna, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Dinse) Eggers. Patty was baptized shortly after birth at the hospital and again at First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Patty graduated from Owatonna High School in 1972.

Patty's diabetes was diagnosed in 1982. She lived at home with her loving parents until 1994, and at that time moved into the REM home in Owatonna. Patty was a very special person loving life to the fullest. Her love of her family both biological and her REM family was seen in so many ways. She showed all her loved ones what it was like to love unconditionally; and how to enjoy the simple things in life! She loved to go for rides or to places like McDonald's and always enjoyed all family gatherings like her nieces and nephews weddings and the dances. Patty loved to tease and laugh. She complained little although she had so many health problems. Patty retired in 2007 after working 30 years for Cedar Valley Services, Owatonna. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by mother, Alice Eggers of Owatonna; brother, Clarence (and LaVonne) Eggers of Albert Lea; sisters, Beverly (and Marvin) Meixner of Owatonna, Margie (and Lyle) DeBower of Decorah, IA, Dolores (and Vern) Sundem of Minneapolis, Eleanor (and Ralph) Wangen of Albert Lea, Phyllis (and William) Stransky of Cleveland, 9 nieces, 8 nephews, grand nieces, cousins, friends, and REM family.

She was preceded in death by father, Clarence Eggers; nephew, Kenneth Grimstad; infant great nephew.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM .  Funeral services will be held February 1, 2013, at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating.  Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.  Memorials are preferred to Owatonna Hospice and St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna.
