Robert "Bob" Weingartz, age 76, of Mankato, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center. Memorial Services will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the chapel. Interment will be private.
Bob was born January 1, 1937, in Mankato to Joseph and Matilda (Biedscheid) Weingartz. He was a 1955 graduate of Loyola High School. Bob served in the U.S. National Guard. He married Rita Peterson January 4, 1958, they later divorced. Bob married Irene Nepstad October 9, 1976. During his career Bob worked for Rochester Dairy, Hendleys, Chamberlin Windows & Siding, Vigortone Feed and Kato Engineering before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Eagles Club #269 and former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1414. Bob enjoyed racing and working on stock cars, fishing, bowling, hunting, camping, spending time in his garage, working on lawn mowers and especially time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Irene; daughters, Roxanne (fianc Don Bybee)
Weingartz and Renee (Dick) Verkinderen both of Mankato; sons, Randy (Vickie) Weingartz of Canon City, CO, Russ Weingartz, Ray Weingartz both of Mankato and Ron (Joy) Nepstad of Enid, OK; grandchildren, J.R. (Evie) Weingartz, Ben Weingartz, Chris Weingartz, Tony Weingartz, Bobbie Jo Nepstad and Jamie (Cortney) Litterell; great grandchildren, Emma Weingartz, Anslee Litterell and Daegan Litterell; sisters, Ginny (Duane) Swanson of Mankato and JoAnne (Wayne) Cordle of Manly, IA; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
