Beulah Alice "Bea" Benshoof

— Beulah  Alice 'Bea' Benshoof

    Beulah  Alice "Bea" Benshoof, age 88 of LeSueur died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the MVHC Nursing Home in LeSueur.  She was born on  June 5, 1925 in Grant County, South Dakota to Frederick and Orilla (Briggs) Whiting.  She attended school in South Dakota but moved with her family to Long Beach, California and graduated from Polly High School.  She was a "Rosie the Riveter" helping to build airplanes in California during the war.   She married Leslie J. Kilvington in 1946 in Ortonville, Minnesota where they resided.  She worked at a local cafe and later worked as a supervisor of housekeeping at the Ortonville Hospital.  Leslie died in 1958.  She married Alva Benshoof on September 6, 1966 at Ortonville.  They continued to live there until moving to New Prague in 1973 where she worked at the Queen of Peace Hospital as supervisor of housekeeping.  Alva preceded her in death in  2007.  She loved all sports, especially the Twins and Vikings.  She was active in her church with quilting, cleaning and volunteering her services.  

    She is survived by her children, Darlene (Bob) Rehn of Tulsa, OK, Carol (Jim) Kust of Delano, Frank (Karen) Benshoof of Tulsa, OK, Eugene (Donna) Benshoof of Watertown, MN, George (Jeanne) Benshoof of LeSueur, Cheryl (Bill Turnbull) Kilvington of St. Paul, Peggy (Craig) Westlund of LeCenter and Mark (Judy) Benshoof of Tulsa, OK.  She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie and Alva, 3 children, Alice, Alan and Denis, 10 brothers and sisters.

    Funeral services will be held at Word Of Life Lutheran Brethren Church in LeSueur, Minnesota on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10  a.m.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Mound Cemetery in Ortonville, Minnesota on Monday at 4 p.m.
