Alice Marie Harmeyer

—  Alice Marie Harmeyer, 95, of Le Center, died at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter on Monday, April 1, 2013.  Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be also at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center on Thursday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. with one hour prior. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.

  Alice was born in Sharon Township on April 10, 1917, to Christian and Mathilda (Dahn) Schwarz. Baptized April 29, 1917, and confirmed on March 29, 1931, at Dresselville Church east of Le Sueur. She was united in marriage to Vernon Harmeyer on August 17, 1948, at Dresselville Church.

 She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and playing ball with pet Bailey. Active in church activities such as the Monday quilters, working on the sympathy committee and doing the kitchen laundry.

  Alice is survived by children; Cheryl (and John) Schlueter of Burnsville, Craig Harmeyer of Le Center, and Connie Harmeyer of Le Center, 4 grandchildren; Melisa Schlueter of Minnetonka, Christian (and Carolyn) Harmeyer of Le Center, Charles Harmeyer of Grand Forks, ND, and Tim Schlueter of Burnsville, one great-grandchild, Grace Harmeyer and one due in April, sisters; Esther Gentz of Le Sueur and Fern Seewald of Waseca.

   She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Doris Gentz, and two brothers Earl and Baby Son who died at birth.
