Carol Ann Stallkamp, age 67, of Mankato, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family, after a battle with brain cancer. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minnesota State University, Mankato Foundation.
Carol was born April 16, 1946 in Waterloo, IA to Cleo and Dorothy (Hill) Hahn. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. After graduation, she taught high school in Iowa and then worked in the insurance industry in Minneapolis. She moved to Mankato in 1978 to begin working at Minnesota State University. Carol married William Stallkamp on December 8, 1978 in Mankato. Carol worked for 34 years for Minnesota State University, Mankato, serving the last 11 as the Assistant to the President. She was active in the University community, and enjoyed supporting the athletics teams and student organizations. Carol retired from MSU, Mankato in January 2013. She enjoyed flowers, and was very proud of her gardens. She also loved to travel and be outdoors.
Carol is survived by her husband Bill; daughters Sarah of Auburn, AL, Jennifer of Mankato and Caroline (Joe) Holmes of Minneapolis; sister, Karen Hahn of Waterloo, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
