Richard "Dick" Joseph Strohl, age 71, died on July 13, 2012 in Minneapolis.
Dick was born to Joseph and Gertrude (Peterson) Strohl on July 23,1940. He grew up on the family farm north of Janesville. He attended Rural School Dist.#73 and graduated from Janesville High School in 1958. He attended the University of California at Berkley and the University of Minnesota.
In 1962, he joined the Peace Corps and spent 2 years in Iran. He married Judith Gutmann of Jersey City, New Jersey in 1964. They farmed near Elysian and then returned to Iran for five years before moving to St. Louis Park.
He is survived by his wife Judith, daughters Erica (Craig Oppegaard) and Leah (Nathan Chin); grandchildren Jordan, Ezekiel and Abigail; sister Doris Berger of Janesville and many family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial celebration at the Open Eye Theatre on 24 & Portland in Minneapolis from 4-6 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2012.
