Richard "Dick" A. Petersen

AMBOY — Richard "Dick" A. Petersen, 68, Mankato died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Laurels Peak.  Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

    Dick was born August 1, 1945 to Richman and Pearl Petersen in Mankato.  He was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Martin on January 26, 1964 in Mankato.  Dick serviced in the United States Army.  In his free time he enjoyed sports, fishing, bird watching, roller skating, collecting Marvel Comics, and music.  His favorite pastime was playing yahtzee with his family.  He was a member of the International Molders and Allied Workers Union.

    He is survived by his wife, Sharon Petersen of Mankato: children; Lorrie Rykhus of Houston, MN, Karen (Steven) Svenby of Eagle Lake; Brian (Cindy) Petersen of North Mankato;  grandchildren; Brandon Rykhus, Karrie Petersen, Kristina Petersen, Katrina Petersen, Karrissa Petersen, Kyle Petersen, Amber Petersen, and Zakarias Svenby;  great grandchildren, Marianna Floyd, Malik Floyd, Ma'liyah Porchia, and Makhi Breham; siblings, Lars Petersen of St. Peter, David (Wilma) Petersen of Lake Crystal, Darla (Tom) Worden of Mankato; Robert Petersen of Mankato, and Marie Thurber of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.

    Dick is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patty Forsyth; and brothers, Hans and Donnie
