Hartley C. Hansen


— Mankato resident, Hartley C. Hansen, 81, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato with interment at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato and will continue at the church 1 hour prior to the service.  Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

 Hartley was born April 11, 1932, in Garden City, MN to Hans and Valborg (Larsen) Hansen. He grew up and went to school in Garden City.  On December 31, 1956, he married Norma Jean Meyers in Iowa.  He served in the US Navy from June 11th, 1952 to June 10th, 1960.  Hartley enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with just about anything, coffee with his friends, and most of all loved spending time with his family.

 He is survived by his sons, Samuel A. Hansen of Mankato, Curtis A. Hansen of Mankato, Todd C. and Michelle (Sargent) Hansen of Madison Lake; granddaughters, Samantha and Danielle both of Madison Lake; brother, Raymond (Catherine) Hansen; sisters, Doris (Martin) Labs and Betty (Alfred) Schaal.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, parents, sisters Viola Wetzel and Donna Sorensen, brother, Curtis A. Hansen I.
