LaJune Polzin


—   Mankato resident, LaJune Polzin, 93, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato.

 LaJune was born March 14, 1921 in Janesville, MN to John and Emma (Prail) McComb.  She grew up and attended school in Faribault. On February 4, 1940, she married Paul Polzin in  Estherville, IA.   She worked at Brett's in Mankato for a short time but mainly stayed at home, taking care of her family and making sure that all her children received a good education. After raising 5 children, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of a BS degree in Sociology at Mankato State University. LaJune loved doing volunteer work, was an active member and player at Mankato Golf Club, liked playing Bridge, reading, swimming, traveling, playing tennis and taking daily walks.  She often could be found picking up sticks or sweeping leaves at her home.  She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato.

 Survivors include daughters, Janna (Curt) Morgan of Aurora, CO; Joan (Ken) Kratt of Lees Summit, MO; Jean Lorentz of North Mankato, MN; sons, Frederick (Barbara) Polzin of Prior Lake, MN; Scott (Julie) Polzin of Duluth, MN; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and cousin, Wendellen McComb of Joshua Tree, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul

and her Aunt Marjorie Bowen-Hopkins.

 A private family memorial service will be held at Woodland Funeral Home.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
