Mankato resident, Lawrence "Larry" Pfeffer, 68, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the chapel. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Larry was born April 7, 1944, in Mankato, MN, to William and Della (Friske) Pfeffer. He grew up and attended school in Lake Crystal. He served in the US Marine Corps and also the Army reserve. He retired from AFI in 1989. Larry liked gardening, woodworking and bowling. He was a member of VFW Post 950.
He is survived by son, Christopher of Eugene, OR; grandson, Bailey LaPatka of Mankato; brothers, Edwin Pfeffer of Mankato, John (Kristine) Pfeffer of New Richland, William (Jane) Pfeffer of Madelia, Matthew Pfeffer of Madison, WI; sisters, Marcella (Lloyd) Utzka of Monticello, Madelene Zuhlsdorph of Alexandriea. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Aaron.
