Robert Dale Schiebel


— Robert Dale Schiebel, 83, of Brooklyn Center, MN, lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 21, 2013.

 Robert (Bob) was born on August 5, 1929, in St. Peter, MN, to Otto and Wilhelmina (Rohlfs) Schiebel. Robert grew up in the St. Peter Area, having graduated from St Peter High School in 1947. He later enlisted in the US Navy serving from November 1950 through September 1954 and became a pipefitter first class. He graduated from the Minnesota School of Business, in 1956, with an accounting degree. Robert married Jean Eaton, of St. Peter in January 1959. and soon moved to Hopkins, then Brooklyn Center where they raised their family. Throughout his career he worked for HJ Flesher, AJ Pederson Company and Industrial Tool as a Controller until he retired in February '13.

 Robert was a member of the St. Peter Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps (1947-50, 1954-62), the Palmer Lake VFW Post 3915 and St. Peter American Legion Post 37. He enjoyed volunteering his accounting skills for children's youth activities and later for political campaigns, namely then Speaker of the House Phil Carruthers,

 Survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Schiebel (Eaton), children Linda Freemon, Kurt (Andrea Ferguson), and Karl (fianc Michelle Kliber), 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

  Preceded in death by parents Otto and Wilhemina (Rohlfs) Schiebel, Mayme (Greenhagen/Dummer) Schiebel; Siblings Mercedes, Doris, Betty (Hyatt), Lyle, and Dummer boys Stanley, Robert, LeMoyne, Emery, and Gene.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Ave. N., Brooklyn Center, MN. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

  In lieu of flowers memorials to the family preferred.
