Merrilyn Ruth Arndt, age 79, of Mankato, died, March 23, 2013, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue 1 hour before services at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Merrilyn was born December 21, 1933, in Mankato to Carl and Ruth (Emmler) Leesch. She was a 1952 graduate of Mankato High School. Merrilyn married Frederick Arndt August 2, 1952, in Mankato. She was homemaker and also active in the community. Merrilyn was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Women of the Moose and longtime member of the Masonic Lodge/ Eastern Star. Merrilyn enjoyed Hardanger needlework, reading, cards, Bridge Club, helping children in Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts.
Merrilyn is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth (Wade) Kytola and Roxanne Arndt both of Prior Lake; 3 sons, Richard (Lori) Arndt of Mankato, Ronald (Deborah) Arndt of St. Paul and Roy (Stephanie) Arndt of Madison Lake; grandchildren, Jeremy (Monica) Arndt, Jessica Arndt, Doni Jo (Stephen) Comiskey, Thomas Arndt, Kristoffer Robin, Mary Robin, Nicolaus Robin, Stephanie Guidera and Samantha Arndt; great grandchildren, Darby Comiskey, Jacob, Benjamin and Max Arndt, Victoria, Lydia and Evan Slama; sister, Carolyn (Roger) Lovik of North Mankato; 2 nephews, David and Mike Lovik.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frederick and oldest son Robert.
