Nina Schmidt

—    Nina Lorene Schmidt of North Mankato died peacefully on 5/17/13 as the result of a massive stroke. Nina married Greg "Coot" Schmidt on 12/9/67. She was a dedicated, faithful, and supportive wife. Nina worked for Dekalb Seed Corn and Alliance Heath Care. Nina enjoyed the company of her family, friends, and neighbors and no one ever left her home hungry. She was a loving and compassionate mother to her three sons and a dedicated caring grandmother. She loved rocking and singing her grandchildren to sleep, and in the true spirit of a grandmother indulged many of their wishes. Her thoughtfulness was often reflected in her generosity to others. Her smile and unique laughter was contagious, and her sense of humor could always lighten the mood of any crowd. She loved music and dancing, and was ever the family photographer. Her pictures have chronicled her families growth. She will be dearly missed.

Nina is survived by her husband Greg, sons Adam (Danica), Kevin (Kelly), and Ryan (Leah). Grandchildren Jacob, Ellison, Alma, and Annalise. Siblings Bill Ruch, Bob Ruch, Dick Ruch, Cindy Felts, and extensive relatives on both sides of the family.
