Marjorie Bernice Wannarka


—    Marjorie Bernice Wannarka, age 83, of Mankato, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Good Counsel Chapel, School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mankato.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.  Memorials may be given to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, SCHOLA, or Shriners Hospitals.  Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements.

   Marge was born on September 12, 1929, in Manyaska Township, Martin County, MN.  She was the daughter of John and Bernice (Beckstrom) Wannarka.  Marge graduated from Good Counsel in Mankato and received her Masters Degree from St. Catherine's University in St. Paul.  She was employed for 53 years as a Medical Librarian for Creighton University in Omaha, NE.  Marge returned to Mankato in 2006.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato and enjoyed traveling and family genealogy.

   Marge is survived by her sister, Nancy Kapusta of Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law, Shirley Wannarka of Winthrop; and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pat (Shirley) Wannarka and Jerry Wannarka; brother-in-law, Gene Kapusta; and a nephew, Peter Wannarka.
