David was born on September 18, 1960 to E. John and Mary (Strunk) Bach in Le Sueur. He grew up on the family farm in Henderson. David graduated from Henderson High School in 1979 and the University of Minnesota in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy.
He worked for Green Giant throughout high school and college, which is where he met Kristine who was the love of his life. After college, he settled on his family's farm and remodeled his grandparents house before marrying Kristine Nuessmeier on September 7, 1985 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. David was very proud to be a 5th generation farmer living his entire life on the Bach family farm. David enjoyed volunteering for various church and school functions. He worked at Green Giant Ag Research and Woestehoff Farms. He also served 11 years as a board member for Heron Lake Bio Energy. The last few years of his life, David felt very blessed to be farming independently on the family farm.
David was grateful for his close family and friends. He enjoyed traveling by honeymooning in Europe, snowmobiling with his son and friends in Wyoming, visiting his daughter in Japan, and scuba diving in the Caribbean. He also enjoyed deer hunting and hosting hog roasts by using his own specially crafted hog roaster. David was a very generous man and enjoyed helping others - oftentimes dropping his own tasks to help extended family and friends. He held strongly to his beliefs, loved debating politics with his mother-in-law, and always had a humorous story to share. He treasured his wife and instilled in his children a love for the outdoors, kindness, and a dry sense of humor. David will be deeply missed.
David is survived by his wife, Kristine; children, Nicole, Britany and Christopher Bach; parents, E. John and Mary Bach of Le Sueur; siblings, Julia (Kevin) Robak of St. Cloud, Robert Bach of Mankato, Joseph (Cindy) Bach of Mansfield, TX and Thomas (Robbie) Bach of Henderson; mother-in-law, Norma Nuessmeier of Le Sueur; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Kevin) Cronk of Le Sueur and Karen Nuessmeier of New Hope; 9 nieces and nephews; and 2 great-nieces.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Hazel (Muehlhausen) Bach and Joseph and Adelaide (Hirscher) Strunk; and father-in-law, Richard Nuessmeier.
