    Donald Harold Juliar, age 71, of Mankato, died Friday, October 18, 2013, at his residence.

    A Memorial Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive.  Military honors will be held at the beginning of the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

    Don was born on May 2, 1942, in Mankato.  He was the son of Harold and Lilia (Schull) Juliar.  Don was a 1961 graduate of St. Clair High School.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 until 1965.  Don was united in marriage to Connie Hussey on August 28, 1965, in Presque Isle, Maine.  He farmed in Decoria Township for 25 years and was employed with Atlantis Plastics for 13 years.  Don retired at the age of 65.  He was a member and past Commander of the St. Clair American Legion Post 475.  Don was involved with 4-H and judged poultry.  He enjoyed raising poultry, gardening, bird watching, fishing, hunting, trapping, and watching sports, especially the Gophers and Packers.

    Don is survived by his wife, Connie of Mankato; son, Corrie (Lynn) Juliar of Mankato; daughter, Cassandra Schaible of St. Clair; three grandsons, Isiah (Vanessa) Juliar, and Cole and Carter Schaible; brother, Dale (Helen) Juliar of Diamond Bar, CA; three nephews, Steve (Rena), Timothy, and Matthew Juliar; also cousins, other family, and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.
