Wesley Dean Swanson


—   Wesley Dean Swanson, age 85, passed away courageously Monday, November 12th, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, MN.  Services are at 11 a.m., Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to services at the Church.  Interment with full Military Honors will be held following Services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

  Born on October 29th, 1927, to Elmer and Gladys (Johnson) Swanson in Tracy, Minnesota.  He lived in Mankato for 84 years.  Serving in the Navy from May 1945 thru August 1946.  He was employed at BENCO Electric for 43 years, serving on the Power Lineman Advisor Board at Jackson Votech, President of Minnesota State Power Line Superintendents and a past Master at Masonic Lodge #12 in Mankato.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  Wes enjoyed pigeon racing, hunting, fishing, golf and any time he could spend with his grandchildren.

 Wesley married Jeanne Perkins and they had four children together.  In 1976 Wesley and Patricia Robinson were united in marriage for 36 years.  Wesley is survived by his wife, Patte; beloved children in combination Christopher, Rebecca (Mike)and Andrew (Penny) Robinson, Ronald (Susan) Swanson, Patricia Dalluge, Felicia Swanson, and Deborah (Young) Reich.

   Special memories to grandchildren Blake Robinson, Taylor and Zac Swanson, Renee (Jared) David, Sarah and Paige Dalluge and Matthew More.  Laurie Carnahan, Joel, Shelly, and Jason Young.  Great grandchildren so dear to him and many nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Russell Swanson, sister Beverly Vesta, son Bradley Swanson, grandparents, and Jessica Dalluge and her fiance Joseph Melvin.
