Marilyn A. Bauer


—   Marilyn A. Bauer, age 63 of Mapleton, MN, died Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, MN.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN.  Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Pastor Mike Omtvedt will officiate and interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Church in Danville Twp., Blue Earth Co., MN.  Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences.  Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn was born August 6, 1950, in Mankato, MN to Paul and Marjorie (Spurr) Smith.  She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1968.  After obtaining her Dental Assistant Degree, she worked at the Faribault State School, where she met Mike.  She was united in marriage to Mike Bauer January 14, 1970 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Danville Twp., Danville Co., MN, and to this union 2 daughters were born.  The couple adopted their son Matt in 1978.  Marilyn went back to South Central College for her LPN degree, and she graduated in 1999.  She worked at Mapleton Community Home, Mankato Clinic-Mapleton Office, and retired from The Mankato Clinic-Mankato.  Marilyn enjoyed animals of all kinds, and she loved her flower gardens.  She was a faithful member of Hosanna Lutheran Church.  Marilyn deeply loved her family and was so proud of each of them.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Mike; 2 children:  Michelle (Allen) Marble of Good Thunder and Matthew Bauer of Mankato; 3 grandchildren:  Lauren, Jarod, and Gretchen Marble of Good Thunder.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby daughter in 1970.
