---- — Runners tested their mettle Sunday morning during the Mankato Marathon, half marathon and 10K races. More than 4,000 runners left a parking lot at Minnesota State University early Sunday morning to take a course that wound through the Blue Earth County countryside before returning to downtown Mankato.
Eric Thies of Arlington won the Mankato Marathon on Sunday morning, finishing the race in around 2 hours, 35 minutes. The top female finisher was Amy Halseth of St. Louis Park with a time around 2:58.
In the half marathon, Chris Erichsen of Minneapolis was the men's winner with a time of 1:12:30. Elizabeth Yetzer was the women's winner, coming in around 1:18.
Chris Caron took the top-spot in the Mankato Marathon 10K men's race with a time of 35 minutes, 13 seconds. Emily Shudrowitz of North Mankato was the top women's finisher with a time of 40 minutes, 4 seconds.
