The three North American Fastpitch Association World Series tournaments came to an end Sunday at Caswell Park.
In the 23-under tournament, the Young Bucks of California won the championship with a 9-2 win over the East Coast All-Stars in five innings.
Weggys of Lake Crystal started the day with a 7-5 win over the Black Sox of Lewiston, Minn. Jamie Maxwell led the winners with three hits in three at-bats. Teammates Tony Herbst and Dan DeWitz added two hits apiece.
DeWitz drove in three runs and Zeb Roth drove in two. Justin Zimmerman went the distance for the win, allowing three earned runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking four.
Weggys was eliminated by the eventual champion Young Bucks in the semifinals 6-5. Joel Cooley took the loss, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with five walks and five strikeouts.
DeWitz ripped three hits in the losing effort. Roth, Cody Johnson and Richard Eickoffer contributed two hits apiece.
In the Class AA-Major Tournament, the Kegel Black Knights of Fargo, N.D. emerged victorious with two straight wins over The Bar of Appleton 23s from Wisconsin.
Kegel downed The Bar 4-3 in the first championship game and then knocked off The Bar again 2-0 in the second championship game.
Mitch Hardy was the winner in the first game and Darcy Byrne got the win in Game 2.
In the Class A-Major Tournament, PA Power of Pennsylvania won the national title with a 4-3 win over PK Broward of Royalton, Illinois. Eric Fogel got the win in relief and Duane Wheeler ripped three hits.
