Meghan Gehring had 12 kills and three blocks as Gustavus Adolphus made quick work of Carleton 3-0 in an MIAC volleyball match at Gus Young Court.
Game scores were 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 in a match that last just an hour and five minutes.
Olivia Warren added 10 kills and six digs, and Britta Bolm and Nicki Ainsworth each had eight kills. Emily Klein served five aces. Bridget Burtzel made 40 assists, and Burtzel and Ainsworth each had five digs.
Sarah Halls led Carleton (7-8, 4-2 in MIAC) with 12 kills.
Gustavus (16-3, 4-2) plays Friday and Saturday in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-MIAC Border Battle, hosted by Cornell College at Mount Vernon, Iowa. On Friday, Gustavus plays Luther and Buena Vista, and on Saturday, the Gusties take on Dubuque and Cornell.
Men’s soccer
Ben Ikeda scored at the 76:41 mark as Gustavus Adolphus defeated Augsburg 1-0 in an MIAC match at Minneapolis.
It was the fourth goal of the season for Ikeda, who scored unassisted on a 30-yard shot. It was the Gusties’ only shot on goal of the match.
Augsburg had 21 shots, three of which were saved by goalkeeper Luke Strom.
Gustavus (9-2-1, 5-1 in MIAC) plays Saturday at home against Bethel.
