The Mankato MoonDogs smacked 13 hits and played errorless defense Tuesday, downing the St. Cloud River Bats 6-0 in a Northwoods League baseball game at Joe Faber Field.

Tim Griffin pitched the first seven innings to get the win. He allowed just three hits, struck out seven and walked two. Chris Garrison finished up with two innings of one-hit relief.

A.J. Pettersen and Danny Miller smacked three hits and scored two runs apiece to lead Mankato’s attack. Ryan Durant and Taylor Black added two hits apiece while Miller finished with a double and two RBIs.

Mankato (17-7) and the River Bats (9-16) have a rematch at 7:05 p.m. today in St. Cloud.
