Sadaka leads East in home triangular win

MANKATO — Mankato East’s Chris Sadaka and Mankato West’s Matt Newman tied for medalist honors as the Cougars won the boys golf triangular Tuesday at Mankato Golf Club.

East finished at 316, with West at 321 and Fairmont at 343.

Other low scores from the Cougars came from Carter Haley with a 76, Josh Sloniker with a 81 and Alex Zellmer shot a 84. On the 12th hole, Nick Rockvam made a 155-yard hole-in-one.

West’s Sam Blackman shot 81, while Louis Colway had an 82 and Justin Else shot an 83.

East and West will play in the Big Nine Conference meet at Rochester today.

St. Peter girls 200, LSH 216: Karly Maier shot a 46 to lead St. Peter over Le Sueur-Henderson. Anna Amos shot a 47 for the Saints.

LeaRae Emerson shot a 47 for Le Sueur’s low score. The Giants play in the Minnesota River Conference tournament today. The Saints begin play in their subsection tournament Tuesday at North Links.

Rochester John Marshall 372, Mankato East 410, Rochester Century 455: Katie Ollenburg was the medalist with an 88, leading Rochester JM to the Big Nine Conference win at Northern Hills Golf Course on Monday.

East was led by Caylin Steinberg, who shot 97. Caitlin Clause shot 102, followed by Amanda Broman at 103 and Alexis Just at 108.

The Cougars participate in the Big Nine tournament today at North Links Golf Course.
