Collins' perfect game lifts Jays

WASECA -- Abby Collins pitched a perfect game as Waseca defeated Blue Earth Area 10-0 in six innings to open the Section 2AA, South Subsection softball tournament Tuesday.

Collins also went 2 for 3 and scored two runs. Kristen Simmons went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, and Mikayla Rolling was 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI.

The Bluejays (11-4) will play Faribault Academies at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Central 12, Sibley East 2, 6 innings: Brooke Willemsen was 2 for 3 with three RBIs as top-seeded Central won the Section 2AA, North Subsection game at Norwood Young America.

Tracy George was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Central.

Central (16-2) plays Thursday against Belle Plaine at Norwood Young America. Belle Plaine defeated Jordan 9-5 on Tuesday.
