Gustavus roundup

ST PETER — Carolyn Draayer broke a scoreless tie at 9:37 of the third period and gave the second-ranked Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team a 1-0 nonconference victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon at the Don Roberts Ice Rink.  The win improved the unbeaten Gusties to 12-0-0.

Gustavus outshot the Pointers 43-17. Goalies Lindsey Hibbard and Colleen Jacoby combined for the shutout win.

Stevens Point goalie Hillary Drake stopped 42 shots, including all 18 she faced in the first period. Lindsey Hjelm assisted on Draayer’s goal.

Gustavus will host St. Catherine Friday.

Womens’ basketball: Karina Schroeder had 18 points and six rebounds as the Gusties topped St. Catherine 76-57 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game in St. Paul.

Kelsey Florian had 16 points with five rebounds, and Rachelle Blaschko scored 11 for the Gusties.

Sarina Baker led St. Catherine (1-12) with 17 points.

Gustavus moves to 10-3 overall and 9-1 in the MIAC.

Men’s hockey: Darren Lapic scored Gustavus’ only goal in a 1-1 overtime tie with St. John’s University Saturday at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter.

The Gusties’ Henrik Reisvang got the assist. Tobias Linbro scored St. John’s goal.

Gustavus outshot St. John’s in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game 27-25.
