ST. CLOUD — The Minnesota State women’s basketball team committed 23 turnovers and lost its second game in a row Friday, dropping a Northern Sun game to St. Cloud State 69-65.

Aubrey Davis led the Mavericks with 13 points and seven assists.

The Huskies were led by Jessica Benson and Rachael Moen, each with 15 points.

St. Cloud State led 31-23 at halftime, but the Mavericks cut their deficit to just two points with an 8-2 run to start the second half. However, the Huskies answered that with an 11-2 run. They never trailed the rest of the way, although the Mavericks pulled within two points with about 5 minutes to play.

Ali Wilkinson had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Mavericks. Ashley Olson scored 11 points, all in the first half, and Jamie Bresnahan also had 11 points.

The Mavericks (11-4, 7-4 in NSIC) will play again today at Minnesota Duluth.
