MANKATO — Mankato West finished first in nine events on Tuesday to defeat St. Peter 97-91 in a nonconference swim meet at the Minnesota State pool.
The Scarlets opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Madison Bacon, Rachel Thate, Anna Egli and Danielle Nack delivered a time of 1:56.86.
Chantal Nack captured the 200-freestyle in 1:56.72 and Bacon was first in the 200-individual medley (2:23.19). Danielle Nack won the 50-freestyle in 24.06.
West also grabbed the top two spots in the 1-meter diving competition as Miranda Deatley scored 202.80 points and Ashley Dungan scored 182.60. Egli garnered another first in the 100-butterfly (1:04.47) and Chantal Nack won the 100-freestyle (54:21).
In the 500-freestyle, West's Thate was first in 5:44.33. The Scarlets' quartet of Bacon, Thate, Eglie and Nack picked up another win in the 200-medley relay in 1:56.86.
St. Peter was led by Abby Mattson who won the 100-backstroke in 1:08.47 and joined with Alex Artmann, Grace Carlson and Sara Ronnkvist to win the 400-free relay in 4:15.91. Teammate Casey Rezmerski won the 100-breaststroke in 1:19.87.
Austin 95, East/Loyola 91: The Packers won the Big Nine Conference meet which took place Tuesday at the Mankato East pool.
Mankato East/Loyola began the meet by winning the 200-medley relay. The foursome of Anna Laumann, Chandra Bouma, Eaden Javens and Erica Ellstrom turned in a time of 2:05.75.
Javens also won the 200-individual medley (2:27.70) and Ellstrom captured the 500-freestyle (5:57.07). Bouma finished first in the 100-breastroke in 1:18.44.
The Cougars' 400-free relay team of Javens, Laumann, Mackenzie Juberien and Ellstrom finished first in 4:08.52.
