Scarlets roll to big win at RJM

ROCHESTER — The Mankato West football team downed Rochester John Marshall 56-14 Friday in a Big Nine Conference game.

Ryan Schlichte passed for 256 yards and two touchdowns on 10 completions. He also rushed eight times for 56 yards and two touchdowns.

Cory Johnson had a strong night running ball, compiling 161 yards and two scores on eight carries. He also had two catches for 38 yards. Travon Jones helped out with eight rushes for 50 yards and a score.

Will Claussen led the team in receiving with three receptions for 105 yards and a score. Connor Watts had two catches for 90 yards and found the end zone twice.

Isaac Weber led the defense with 18 tackles and two sacks. West (3-1) plays cross-town rival Mankato East at Blakeslee Stadium Friday.
