Mankato rookie wins women's 10K

(Continued)

"It was a pretty easy 10K course,” Schudrowitz said. “I was not expecting to win, but the downhill made it a lot faster. There was lots of people cheering so that made it easier, too.”

The 2014 Mankato Marathon weekend is a long way away, but to Schudrowitz, it might be her chance to defend her gold medal, or possibly move up to bigger challenges .

“It was fun, I would probably do it again,” she said. “I would like to try the half-marathon eventually, I’m just working up to it now.”
