---- — ST. PETER — Senior Jeffrey Dubose had a big game for the Gustavus Adolphus football team Saturday, setting three school records in a 34-19 victory over Carleton College at Hollingsworth Field.
Dubose rushed for 264 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Gusties in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win. He also had four receptions for 80 yards.
His 264 yards on the ground is a single game record for Gustavus. It also pushed him up to 1,261 career yards, eclipsing the old school mark of 1,233.
Dubose now has 21 rushing touchdowns in 2013, another school record. The Gusties still have one game to play.
DuBose scored on runs of 59, 28, 17 and 20 yards. Tom Schleusener kicked a pair of field goals and hit all four PATs for the other Gustavus scores.
Women's hockey: The Gusties played to a 2-2 tied with Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday in a nonconference game at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
Allison Eder-Zdechlik and Amanda Cartony scored for Gustavus. Marissa Brandt had an assist. Eder-Zdechlik's goal came on a power play.
The Gusties outshot Superior 43-29. Tara Hoverstad took the loss and Shanley Peters got the win.
Saturday's game followed a 2-1 loss by the Gusties to UW-Superior on Friday.
Maddie Bergh had the lone goal for Gustavus, taking a pass from Cartony and turning it into a score at 3:40 of the third period.
Lindsey Hibbard made 19 saves in the losing effort. Kiara De Kesel and Dani Schultz each scored for Superior.
Superior is now 3-0-1 while Gustavus is 1-1-1.
