SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Jessica Bowe scored her second goal of the match in the 102nd minute to propel fourth-ranked Minnesota State to a 3-2 road victory over Augustana in the second overtime Sunday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's soccer match.
Minnesota State's third overtime win of the season improves the record to 11-1, 9-0 in Northern Sun play, good for sole possession of first place. The Mavericks extended their conference winning streak to 29 matches.
The Mavericks trailed 1-0 hole at the intermission.
Minnesota State answered in the 69th minute when Kiana Nickel scored her fourth goal of the season. Bowe scored five minutes later, with an assist by Nickel.
Augustana tied the game with a penalty shot just 40 seconds later.
In the second overtime, Nickel's shot in front was deflected, and Bowe buried the rebound for her second goal for a 3-2 victory. Molly McGough stopped five shots in the Mavericks' victory. Minnesota State plays at home at 3 p.m. Friday against St. Cloud State.
