Gustavus knocks off UW-Stout 3-1

MENOMONIE, WIS. — Adam Smyth scored two goals to lead Gustavus Adolphus to a 3-1 nonconference men's hockey victory over UW-Stout on Saturday.

Alex Gallen scored the other goal for the Gusties.

Drew Aspinwall, Andy Pearson and Schyler Adams each had assists for Gustavus. The Gusties outshot Stout 33-27.

John McLean got the win with 26 saves. Danny Ray scored the lone goal for UW-Stout.

Both teams are now 2-2 on the season.

Gustavus begins Minnesota Intercollegiatd Athletic Conference play on Friday when it opens a two-game series against Concordia College at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
