---- — MANKATO -- Alexandria hit five home runs and scored 14 runs in the first three innings, rolling past the Mankato MoonDogs 18-2 in a Northwoods League baseball game Saturday night at Franklin Rogers Park.
Alexandria scored five runs in the first inning, then added two in the second before scoring seven times in the third.
In the first inning, Georgie Salem led off the game with a home run, and later in the inning, Justin Listi cracked a grand slam. Kris Goodman hit a solo home run to lead off the second inning, and Tim Cusick and Andrew Sohn both homered in the third, with Sohn picking up two RBIs.
Listi hit another homer in the fifth that made it 15-0.
The MoonDogs finally scored in the fifth inning when Quinnton Mack's single brought home Kendall Patrick t make it 15-1.
The Blue Anchors added a pair of runs in the sixth inning to extend the lead.
After Alexandria made it 18-1 in the eighth, the MoonDogs scored their final run when Tim Lynch's groundout scored Krystian Leal, who had walked.
Bryan Bonnell pitched just one inning and was tagged for the loss, giving up five runs on three hits and two walks. Five MoonDogs pitchers allowed 21 hits.
The MoonDogs (9-8) begin a four-game road trip with two at Waterloo, Iowa. The first pitch for today's game is scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
