Courrier: Thielen gives himself good chance to make roster

He needs to keep doing what he's been doing, and his one-day-at-a-time approach serves him well as he climbs this career ladder. He doesn't worry about things he can't control, and now he's the player with some experience in the organization, not the one who needs to show unfamiliar coaches why he should be chosen.

Thielen has a chance to become a fan favorite because one thing about Minnesotans ... they love other Minnesotans on their professional teams.

Thielen has accepted every challenge since he started this professional football journey, and he's passed every test. Making the final roster is the toughest obstacle he's faced.

Things are working just as they did at Minnesota State, where he arrived as an unknown commodity and left as one of the most accomplished receivers in program history. He was an important player in the building of the Mavericks into a top-level program, and he could give the Vikings a boost as a backup receiver.
