Mavericks take UConn tournament title

(Continued)

Williams, forward Jean-Paul LaFontaine and defenseman Tyler Elbrecht were all named to the all-tournament team, along with McInnis. The Mavericks defeated Brown 3-1 on Saturday.

“It was a good weekend for us for a couple of reasons,” Hastings said. “We got two wins on the road on a regulation sheet. We didn’t give up 20 shots in either game. We took just two penalties on the weekend. Those are positives.”

The Mavericks (12-6-2) have won nine of their last 10 games. They will return to Mankato today and will host Providence in their final nonconference series of the season Friday and Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Center.
