MANKATO — Mishya Rowe-Swanson won two events and helped two winning relays as Mankato East won a Big Nine Conference girls track triangular meet Tuesday at Wolverton Field.
East scored 92.5 points, followed by Mankato West at 55 and Rochester John Marshall at 35.5.
Rowe-Swanson won the 400-meter dash at 1:02.44 and long jump at 16-feet-2.
She joined Taylor Karge, Emily Altenburg and Emma Baynes to win the 4x200 relay in 1:53.16. In the 4x400 relay, Baynes, Sidney Colbrunn, Ivy Glade and Rowe-Swanson won in 4:25.97.
East swept the relays by winning the 4x100, as Jenny Vetter, Kiara Fitzpatrick, Altenburg and Baynes teamed up in 52.69.
Shayla Karge won the 300 hurdles in 52.45, and Glade took first in the 800 run in 2:38.95. Other winners for East were Andrea Nett in the 3,200 run (13:31.51), Taylor Karge in the triple jump (33-2) and Claire Ziegler in the discus (123-2).
For West, Christa Benson took first in the 100 hurdles in 17.22, and Maddie Maruska won the 100 dash in 13.23. Taylor Amundson won the 200 dash in 26.93, as did Hannah Fox in the high jump at 5-3 and Emma Hartman in the pole vault at 9-6.
East competes at Austin on Saturday, while West participates in the Park True Team Invitational on Friday.
East boys win triangular: East won nine events to take first place at a Big Nine triangular that included Mankato West and Rochester John Marshall at Rochester. East scored 89 points, followed by JM with 58 and West with 36.
East’s Ben Schwartz earned the top spot in the 100-meter dash in 11.63, while Marcell Rowe-Swanson finished the 400 dash with the first-place time of 55.52. Matt Bornholdt took first in the discus at 137-5, while Nick Seiler went 19-10 to win the long jump.
Anjola Onabipe cleared 5-6 in the high jump, and Calvin Deike went 13-0 in the pole vault. The 4x200 relay team of Roderick Miller, Nick Davis, Nathan Dreyer and Seiler finished first in 1:38.31.
